The St. Louis Healthy Marriage Coalition [SLHMC] was founded in 2004. In April 2010, SLHMC changed its name to St. Louis Healthy Families [SLHF] in order to better reflect the future mission and vision of the agency. SLHF is a locally based 501(c)(3) non-profit agency that aims to support, establish, and sustain healthy families and relationships in the greater St. Louis area through education, information, and outreach.
St. Louis Healthy Families promotes the fact that it is essential for both mothers and fathers to be active in the lives of their children. SLHF also believes that healthy relationships are at the core of building healthy families!
Our Mission:
St. Louis Healthy Families educates, trains and advocates for stronger relationships, marriages and communities in our region and state. We provide a variety of services and programs to individuals, couples and families – both directly and in collaboration with other leading social service agencies and employers.
Our Vision:
St. Louis Healthy Families strives to become the leading center for relationship education and advocacy that supports healthy family life in our region and state. As an organization, we will maintain a capable professional staff and board, representing diverse cultures and perspectives, and working in innovative, resourceful, and collegial ways. As a partner, we will honor values of commitment, cooperation and respect.
What we do:
St. Louis Healthy Families coordinates community wide education efforts that support the development of essential relationship skills, including effective communication and conflict resolution. Our programs and services are made available to adults and teens throughout the St. Louis area through our coalition grant partners at very little or no cost.
