I was working at a restaurant, and it was my day off but at the last minute I was called to fill in for someone. Towards the end of my shift, Mike walked in and gave me the greatest smile. When I saw him, my first thought was “oh there he is” and my second thought was “that’s a strange thing to think- where have I seen him?” Unbeknownst to me, he turned to a friend he was with, pointed to me, and said “that’s the girl I’m going to marry”. Turns out, he was from Canada, in St Louis on job training, and there was no way our paths had crossed before. He happened to be with someone I’d worked with at another job, so introductions were made and I was invited to join them when I finished my shift. Of course I accepted, I sat next to Mike, and we started talking like old friends. He came back that weekend to see me, and we’ve spent nearly every day together since. We married 3 months after we met, moved to Canada, and now have 2 beautiful children. We will be celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary this August, and are more in love with every day that passes. We are soul mates and meant to be together, and so fortunate that our paths crossed and we found each other!
